the DAT conducted at IISc is very different to that of IDC. IDC had questions more or less same as that of CEED; but IISc had an important part carrying the engineering questions (most of which came from fluid mechanics). so anyone aspiring for iisc should once go through their technical stuffs!!!! well, i hardly found solutions of anyone of them :)
and what i think is that there is more emphasis on interviews !!
i had interview for around half an hour.. they had 5 panel members.. they started with a discussion about touch screen; it's uses and its future... as my background is electrical, they asked some technical question!! and some random questions checking my communication skill!! some general awareness questions etc...
and Prasanna, i didnt forget to mention about your blog too!! they were very happy to know about it.
Dear vinayak,
Thank you so much for sharing your experience with us! It will surely help aspirants!! Wishing you a bright future ahead!

thanks vinayak.......
hi. will you tel me about the approximate valid score for CEED exams like the minimum cut offs of GATE and DAT.
Hello Kalyan,
Each year thousands of students appear for CEED each year. And the cut-off depends on many factors like, how many candidates got a specified score and how many of them apply to institute that you are interested, etc. The cut-offs vary a lot each year. hence it is very difficult to predict the valid cut-offs. You just give your best shot. Even if you'd have know the cut-offs, i am sure, you'd have wanted to score better and not just the cut-offs, right?
Best luck :)
Sure Prasanna. i will do my best to get into a central government organisation. Thanks
Hi Prasanna, I wanted to know that while preparing for CEED examination, what are the aspects that need to be prioritized the most. I also wanted to know, that what are the most important things to keep in mind while praticing sketching for CEED exam. Can you suggest any method by which I can get my sketches assessed?...so that I can know my mistakes and correct them...This will help me prepare better.......
Hi Ansuman,
For scoring good marks you should aim at the ideas that are creative and sketch them so that the idea is expressed clearly. You dont have to sketch beautifully, such as you dont need to shade or color if not needed, but just ensure that you label all the parts and show exploded view if needed. To get your sketches evaluated, you can post it on facebook groups such as NID and CEED beginner group or CEED 2016 group
Thank You Prasanna sir,....I have one more doubt......Is it necessary to have a job experience if one wants to appear for competitive exams for M.des (such as CEED,NID etc)??....is it a requisite?....the reason i wanted to know this is because...I had appeared last december for CEED 2015...(qualified PART A of the paper but did not qualify PART B) and CEED 2016 is going to be my second attempt...and I graduated with B.Tech degree this June 2016.....( i would like to know whether should I join a job during this transit time period till CEED 2016 or not...)
Hi Ansuman,
For CEED itself job exp does not create much impact in my observation. Though, if you have worked in a company where you are exposed to design, then you might pick up some design skills, but strictly job is not needed. For campus placements during MDes, i have observed, compaies prefer candidates with job exp. Therefore, i feel, if possible do join some design studio or seek an internship. Here is exhaustive listing of companies to choose from http://www.designinindia.net/resources/industry/firms/
Is it necessary to carry a portfolio? I haven't made anything yet and I don't have much time for my DAT at IISc, Please suggest me.
