design passwords which are difficult to guess by others

Here is some clues about how to make password that are easy to remember:
  1.  Use birth dates of ppl, like your mom n dad n sister with your name :
    E.g. PRASANNA19JUNE1988
  2. Use your favorite brand of jeans that you love to wear with maybe its size:
    e.g. LEVIS30INCH
  3. Use some emotionally touching name or number
e.g. (suppose you loved Lion King movie n you watched it with say, Anil in 2006)): SIMBA2006ANIL
  4. Use characters in place of words:
    e.g. P@SSW0RD
  5. Use words from your local language
    e.g. (I like bipasha  a lot) : MALA_BIPASHA_KHOOP_AVADTE;)
  6. Press down the shift key and generate password :
    e.g. "June 28, 1996" becomes JUNE@*

hi prasanna ,its been long back you posted, this blog really helped to get into the insight of ceed and also product design, its nice u sharing the information and it is really helpful because urs is the only blog that has good info on ceed ,thank u for that.
i am interested in film making .i want to know details of "film and animation" course in M.des
what we will be learning in the course and what are the oppurtunities after that,
another thing i want to know is the process of selection into M.des through gate.
do gate candidates have to undergo the DAT?
when will be the notification given?
does this process conflict with M.tech course i mean will it be finished before the M.tech course
my priority is joining the M.des course but if this process of selection begins after mtech through gate ,can i apply to both mtech and mdes

one thing i want to add for this,
dont choose the words in the Dictionary as your password ,which can be cracked very easily

Hello,
Animation course is offered by IIT-B. More details are available here
You can read about selection process for MDes through CEED and GATE here
You will have to keep an eye on websites of the institutes you want to apply for. Some of them release their forms even before the results are out!
Typically MTech and MDes application forms are same for most institutes, when I am writing this. Though it can change.
Best of luck

Hello,
GATE and CEED candidates both have to undergo DAT, because CEED and GATE scores are just screning criteria. DAT invitation letter and hall ticket will be sent to candidates whose form is selected. As far as i know, there are no sample DAT papers. There will be interviews on next day of the DAT.

On my system, the difference of time between two comments is shown to be just 5 mins! Blogger works in weird ways!!

Hello,
Putting a dot, or any other symbol is a very good idea. Many of the banks actually recommend using such symbols. My main focus was creativity in the password itself and its relation with the memory of user, and not security. Symbols, spaces, or even pressing shift key can be added to make it even more secure. Were we working for banking sector or in security, and not writing CEED then these would have mattered a lot more.
